Specifying Clear Parts and Light Pipes

Clear parts are a special service of Planet Proto. Not long ago if you needed a light pipe made for a prototype it had to be either machined out of a clear material or injection molded. This could be problematic. Now the best way to evaluate a light pipe design is to use Planet Cast-made parts.

Parts and components are readily molded in clear material. The secret to achieving a glossy-clear surface is to specify “Glass Smooth” in the Planet Cast “texture” selection.
